The Safiétou project, located in Yoff Biagui and rising six stories high, continues to take shape. In April 2026, the teams completed the ground floor and began construction on the first floor. Since then, progress has been steady; the structure is now complete, and the teams are working on the top floors. Take a look at how the project is coming along.
The structural work is complete
This decisive milestone marks the completion of the building’s structural framework. The columns, beams, and slabs are now in place on all levels.
The basement was also lined. This waterproofing technique provides long-lasting protection for the underground levels and floors against water infiltration, which is essential for the structure’s strength and durability.
The construction project has thus moved on to the masonry and finishing phases.
Work on the top few floors is nearing completion, and finishing work will begin soon
Now that the structural work has been approved, the teams are focusing on the masonry for the last two floors of the building project. Work on the 5th and 6th floors—which mark the top of the structure—is underway, progressing steadily, floor by floor.
At the same time, finishing work is beginning on the lower floors, a sign that several trades are now working simultaneously on the construction site:
- Painting is underway on the 4th floor,
- The suspended ceiling is also being installed on the 4th floor,
- Work has begun on installing the waterproofing in the restrooms.
Another notable milestone: the mechanical and electrical systems—that is, the utility networks and installations built into the building (electrical, plumbing, etc.)—are now 100% complete. This milestone paves the way for finishing work on all floors.
Upcoming steps for the coming weeks
Now that the technical specifications have been finalized, the construction site can move on to finishing work on all floors. The teams will therefore be focused on three tasks in the coming weeks:
- The pursuit of waterproofing,
- Laying the tile,
- Installation of the aluminum window and door frames.
